BCRCOn Thursday October 23, 2008, EDo’s newest neighbors celebrated their office opening with food provided by local restaurants The Daily Grind and Standard Diner and music featuring the Rodney Bowe Jazz Trio.

Forbes.com Bullish on Albuquerque

“Believe it or not, in the future people will be buying and selling homes. Some of them will even make a profit,” writes Matt Woolsey in Forbes.com. ”It’s not so crazy an idea. Consider Albuquerque, NM. … it’s a city that home builders and economists are bullish about for 2010 and beyond.”

Despite economic difficulties throughout the nation in 2008 and extending into 2009, we certainly agree that Albuquerque — especially the East Downtown corridor — will continue the be an excellent location to live and work for many years to come.

Historic Collections Library Renovations Planned

LibraryPlanning is underway for renovation of the Special Collections Library at 423 Central NE next year, with around $1.2 million to be spent on upgrading the Botts Hall auditorium and other improvements.

Built in 1925, the library, a beautiful monument to Pueblo-Spanish revival architecture, currently features the exhibit Art, Politics and Public Works: The New Deal in New Mexico–an educational memorial to role of the Works Progress Administration in New Mexico (the federal jobs program during the Great Depression). It’s Joe Sabatini’s last show, as he’ll be retiring as Branch Manager on Dec. 6, 2008.
